Default External Recording w/ Audio 6

    Hi all,

How can I record my sets with the following setup: a laptop, Audio 6, X1, and an external mixer? I know I'm supposed to run an RCA from the mixer's Rec or Master Out into the Audio 6's Main In, but I'm not sure what settings I need to change in Traktor. I can record using A or B's In, but I'd like to use the Main. Of the three Ins on my soundcard—A, B, Main—are there differences between them? Or will they all record the same?

    Thanks in advance.

    Howdy,

Run an rca from the rec out or booth from the mixer, into the main in on the audio 6. If you want to record through traktor you will need to assign one of the decks as a direct through (most likely deck d). Change the input routing for deck d to the main in on the audio 6 and you are set. Make sure your recording source is set to external as well, i've made that mistake many a time

This sort of question is getting asked so often, it needs a proper tutorial. I'm somewhat motivated to do one, but then I can't be bothered.

    Jester,

Thanks so much for your help! I've got it up and running and can record my mixes via Traktor. I do have one more question, though, concerning how to use the headphone input on the Audio 6; I'd like to cue up my tracks while the other DJ is doing his thing on the club's mixer. Again, very many thanks!

As far as the inputs go, it doesn't matter which you use, the rear A&B inputs are mainly for timecode, the front is for an aux source and is just handier really. The headphone jack is for the Main Out (1&2) only.

    Hi all,
I'm pretty new to traktor and am having a bit of trouble setting my audio 6 for external recording.

I don't have a rec out on my mixer so I improvised and used the booth out, I sent that into the main in on the front of my audio 6 and configured everything as described above.

Everything seems to be working fine however, there is a load of crackling when I start playing and recording at the same time, I know theres something up but don't know what and it's really irritating! haha

any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
