I got myself an excellent AKG 242HD.
The nice thing about it is, they tend to have the same sound characteristics as the Mackie HR624 Active Monitors.
But I can highly recommend the Beyer Dynamics DT-770, DT-880 and DT-990 with a slight preference for the DT-990.

I'm digging my new TMA1 Studio pair. I usually wear Grado but they're open, and have no isolation.
Beyerdynamic is a safe choice!
Don't forget about the Audeze lcd-3.

Aren't open backs more suitable for studio monitoring? Assuming you're not in a noisy environment.

A lot of people who didn't like beats have warmed to the mixrs, and they even scored better in the DJTT shootout than both the Sennheiser HD-25 AND the Pioneer HDJ-2000. I haven't tried them myself but I'm not writing them off just because they're beats.
