Thread: Serato DEMO ?

  1. #1

    Default Serato DEMO ?

I have heard a lot of DJ's on here stating "test out the free and/or lite versions of each DJ software and figure out which one is best for you personally."

Great advice. And I always pass that on to beginners.

I cannot find a FREE and/or LITE version of Serato to test out?

    What's the deal here?

    www.google.com

Serato doesn't work without certified hardware. It's a clever way of tricking people into buying controllers meant for it and then feeling like they HAVE to use it (even though it's crap) otherwise they've wasted money.

nice job Serato. So can we stop recommending this? Maybe Serato will make a free demo?

That's pathetic. So they rely on the "My favorite DJ uses Serato" crap?

You can download the program, and check out all the features with one deck.

It's rock solid, looks good, and works well.

Just talk to a friend with a Serato Box and chill with them :P

But Serato DJ currently supports 10 controllers (2 Reloop included), DJ Intro supports 14 and that seems to increase with every update.

Scratchlive is always going to require a certified sound card so no different to Traktor Scratch.

It's a demo. Shows you everything you can do. If you like the idea of it, buy the hardware. If you don't like it, you can sell it for damned near what you paid for it. Pretty simple. No you can't practice mixing with it, but it gives you a basic idea.

I use SSL and ITCH. Both are exactly what I want out of them. I guess I'm a fanboy who can STFU right?

If you're not willing to make the investment, go elsewhere. It's a bar for the average customer for their products, and that, I can totally understand from a business perspective. It's also something that you know people using Serato products actually bought their shit, which to me, counts for a lot.

You get what you pay for, and it's not always a "try before you buy" situation.

So people aren't allowed to have opinions if they differ to yours??!! I saw you write in another thread that you liked healthy debate? People need to have differing opinions if thats the case. Have you even used Serato?

I also saw in another thread that someone said you sound like a bell end..... i'm tending to agree! No offence intended!
