Default Soundcard - cheap for backup

I have been saving to buy an Audio6/8/10 soundcard (couldn't quite decide yet), but meanwhile I want something to use as I just started to try 3/4 channel mixing.

I've been searching around the Internetz for the cheapest possible soundcard at the moment. I want to use until I finish colecting the money for the Audio thing, also I think it's a good investment as I can keep it for a backup S.O.S. unit later, or just to keep one at my garage (where I usually mix) and one on my bedroom for quick experiments etc.

    I found this:

Am I going to be able to connect all my four channels of my Behringer DJX750 on that? If yes, what exact cables do I need?

    Thanks

    No.

Looks like it has 3 stereo outs - so you could use 3 channels on your mixer.

If you use ASIO4ALL, you could create an aggregate device with your built in sound card giving you 4 stereo outs, though...

Ok thanks, so I was basically about to commit a big error, glad I came here!

So, what's the cheapest possible (and I mean, the cheapest eheh) 4 deck capable soundcard I can buy?

A USB 7.1 surround sound card might work. Can't see any reason that it wouldn't.

ESI Gigaport is fairly cheap and gives you proper low latency performance.

Really? Their Maya44 USB card had *horribly* latency issues.

Still they did recent bring out the Maya44 USB+ and the Gigaport+ which might have solved that problem.

I got nothing but praise for ESI. I've had a U46DJ for YEARS as my DVS interface, and it has worked flawlessly.

I gotta say I do like the look of their interfaces. I don't know why no one else makes cards like the gigaport, seems like a no-brainer to me.

My VCM 100 has a built-in Maya 44 and it seems fine to me. Headphone port is a little noisy though.

The cheaper you go the cheaper you're sound quality will sound. Even for a "backup".
