Default Famous Dj's Mixing Radio Shows..... Mix Transitions

I've been listening to ASOT w/AVB, Club Life /Tiesto, Fire It Up w/Eddie H. and I've come to realize something quite funny. They all use these bigroom vocal drops and callouts, and also talking, to cover up all the mix transitions.... Now I've seen all of them live and i know they don't do that, they do very long mix transitions, but on the shows they literally just cut a track in with a crazy "Boom Sound" and a vocal drop. Its kinda funny.

Radio shows are just promo's for the tunes. They want the tunes playing by themselves for a long time. It's not really about mixing.

most podcast are track showcases rather than mixes and most of them aren't mixed live.

The format I prefer is 2 hours.

50 minutes playing tunes, talking about them, blah blah blah
    10 minute guest interview
    30 minute guest mix
30 minute host mix or b2b with guest

I thought ASOT was one hour new track 1 hour in the mix. Mind you I haven't listened to ASOT since like 2002 2003 markus Schulz had some stellar broadcasts back then also.

global trance grooves and rush hour are proper mixes, just the odd talkover.

Agreed, saw him recently locally at a very intimate venue and he put on an amazing show. Was great to be able to watch him mix practically face to face for over an hour!
