    Default Pionner CDJ-850 ??

I'm thinking of upgrading to the Pionner CDJ-850 to go with my Pionner DDJ-SX controller and would like to know about the build quality of the unit and would it be a good fit for DDJ-SX ?

I would also like to use Serato live to control the CDJ-850 decks.

I'll would like to hear your views on the CDJ-850

    Thanks !

I'm not sure if you can use the CDJ 850s with the SX simultaneously, as the SX is Serato DJ, whereas the CDJs work with Serato Scratch Live.

The build quality is plenty good. Feels pretty much like a 900 to me ('cept of course for the no link/traktor hid thing).

Apparently (judging by people complaining about the lack of support on their forums) Serato DJ does not support CDJs so you'd have to spring for one of the Serato interfaces and use Scratch Live with them.

I don't know about the digital side, but (build) quality wise they are really really good. Not sure if it's a good upgrade to go with your controller, though.

    Nope, won't work with sdj.
    So it's cdj(timecode)+ssl+rane card+mixer or ddj-sx+sdj+cdj(audio only, no timecode)

Could you not use the DDJ-SX as a mixer, and then the 850's as decks? Would mean you wouldn't have to bring a laptop along.

Sorry didnt read the OP properly, but if you didn't wanna use SSL, then it would be good practice in record box and playing on CDJ's

Or CDJ(HID)+ssl+card+mixer, reportedly works well with the 850
