Well, you could do that by send one player through the phones out and the other through master out...
If you use Traktor, usb to DB4 for the sound and use the R1 as midi deck controls and map the mixer section as traktor fx control...

    Thanks for the link!

Booth Out is nice...Send/Return would be good...but I am skeptical that it would be included..I hope i'm wrong.

it's nice to see pioneer branching out.
I'm not interested in this but I can see it being pretty useful for a number of people

Agreed. It is nice to see some branching out. I liked it when NI put out the Z2. I like Pioneer putting out the XDJ-Aero and now this R1 device.

Personally, I am interested in it. I mainly use Traktor, but want a "CDJ" setup at home for practice...I am not about to spend massive $$$ for a CDJ-2000 or even a CDJ-900 just to sit in my studio for practice. Some people may have that kind of spare change, but I don't. The Aero, and possibly this R1 can be used at home for practice, and also (at least the aero) seems reasonably sized to take out if need be.

Seems like a really fine unit, an all in one by Pioneer is a treat many people have been waiting for. However:

WHEN WILL THIS JOKE WITH THE SHORT PITCH FADERS END?

    Seriously. . .

Funnily enough, I'm kind of disappointed that they added actual CD players to the unit. I kind of like that the aero is its own thing...similar workflow to CDJs, but without the need to be actual CD players...CDs will be around for a long time, but the trend does seem to be toward USB drives, Rekordbox and WiFi (new Remotebox maybe?)...

I can see the appeal, practice at home with CDs or USB etc, then play out at the club with their equipment...but for me, CDs will be an unused feature.

I would have rather seen that effort go to Send/Return to get integration with, say, an RMX1000.

They don't include Send/Return on any of their low end mixers so I wouldn't expect it to appear on a budget-oriented all in one.
