Default Keys - MicroKontrol vs .....

Seen a reasonably decent looking MicroKontrol close by for sale @ around $140 and torn between it and the possibiity of something else like a remote 25 (also one for sale close by), Akai MPK Mini or similar.

Yes Size matters - smaller the better where this is concerned.

    Goals:
    Keys (obviously)
    Pads (Ideally a regular 4x4)
    Sliders/knobs (lots)

I'm not a piano player and small keys wont really effect me in any way - just need a better method of getting some melody ideas and drum loops down without spending all my time dicking around with a keyboard and mouse.

    I would seriously think about a M-Audio Axiom25.

Havent seen any for sale with realistic prices in the country TBH

    Nope not considering it ..

    (a) my thang (b) would cost too much anyhow ($220+) once I factor in shipping/import tax

There's an MPK25 for sale @ $100 but 3 keys aren't working and no idea how easy a fix it is (decent enough with a soldering iron - so any ideas).
