Default Conflicting MIDI devices when mapped.

    Hey guys,

Having a little trouble with a couple of units I'm using to control Traktor, an APC40 and an Evolution X-Session to be exact.

I use the X-Session to control eq/gains, the APC40 to control everything else. The problem I have is some of the knobs on the X-Session seem the have the same 'name' as some of the knobs on the APC40.

Is there anyway to fix this without using a Modifier?

you have to change the midi channel on the gear, set one controller to ch #1 and the other to ch #2

    ahh ok, that makes sense.

Can't figure how to do this tho. Both units are 'plug n play' units so no drivers etc. In the MIDI setup in Traktor, I only have options to make units 'active'. I can't find anywhere I can assign a channel to either device.

Could to talk me through the process a little more please.

    Thanks very much, much appreciated.

i would read the manual for the apc40. I do believe it may have a option to change the midi ch. I tired to look for the manual online, but i have to register on the akai site.

    Cool, fixed it.

Still not sure it can be done with the APC40 but downloaded the manual for the X-Session (bought it on ebay so never got one) and figured out how to do it on that.

    Thanks for your help JesC.
