Problem: muting notes for all drum racks in a chain selector

PROBLEM: I have several drums in a chain selector, I have macros chained to mute certain pads (kick, snare, hi hat). I like this set up BUT i was wondering if there is an easier way, maybe mute the notes coming in or individual pads out for the entire rack WITHOUT having to map it every time i drop in a new instrument in a rack. I read something somewhere about using the scale tool but my feeble mind couldn't get it to work, any suggestions?
