Default Butter Rugs - Essential for scratching?

I have a pair of felt slipmats, which are a bit on the thicker side, although very good quality and nice feel.

Although, I was suggested that I'd need Butter Rugs under the slipmats to make scratching easier. Is it true? Will it help for a DJ who's starting out scratching with vinyl?

Simple answer is the best mats are the ones that you can perform better with.

No 2 people are the same... but felt mats feel NOTHING like Butter Rugs.

I use a combo of (one each deck) 1 Butter Rug and 1 Magic Carpet. I know a few that have this combo.

Rugs are way more slippy that felt mats. WAY MORE.

    They are not essential.

But they MIGHT be perfect for you.

Then again, they might not be. Only one way to find out...

I use Butter rugs only yep way more slippy if you want a ghetto way of doing things get a plastic bag and a sharp stanley knife put the felt slipmatt on top of the bag and trace around the slipmatt with the knife and you then have some ghetto slippy matts
