One plays better, but you practice worse!
I dont smoke anymore...but when I did, I also played better.
BUT, when I wanted to Practice...like...repeating specific scratches etc, I would just slump back into jamming instead of actually practicing.
I would loose focus on what I wanted to achieve outta the practice session and just enjoy myself instead of pushing to try get the knack of a specific scratch.

I went through the same dilemma. It seemed like a lot of the scratch DJ's I admired scratched hamster. I eventually settled on normal becasue it's less confusing for me when I'm actually out playing regular DJ gigs that lend themselves to a lot of scratching (my club gigs, weddings, etc.)
