Easy money. No touring shit. People like to see DJ sets.
I've seen artists turn up with a mate and a CD wallet. EASY MONEY.

Then, when he drops his own tune, it goes off.

Also, think of artists like DJ Shadow. When you go to a DJ Shadow show, you're gonna hear tunes that you will never hear anywhere again in your lifetime - but Shadow knows that every song in his set has a purpose. Leading up to when he drops some of his own stuff.

    Exactly.

Mr Scruff plays a few of his own tunes and the roof comes off.

He's DJ first, producer second I guess but he does both incredibly well.

If you like Calvin Harris music then I guess you would have the same opinion about his DJing and his producing.

Im no fan of Calvin Harris but his remix of Passion Pit - The Reeling is a winner of a tune (if you like Indie/Dance).

Ive seen him DJ and play live a few times. Most memorable thing about him is that he is very tall (everyone is to me, yeah I know) but i'm guessing that Calvin Harris is the new Deadmau5 or Skrillex on this forum.

I've seen Shadow do sets where he plays 90% of his own shit with a little dnb thrown in.

As far as Roni Size, it's pretty common for dnb dj's to play a lot of their own tunes. Roni Size can't mix to save his life though tbh. Generally, dnb is producer driven. The only famous dj's that are known for dj'ing over their production are Andy C, Randall, Fierce and Dieselboy.

This. over and over and over,

Most people will be going to see calvin harris because they know his pop songs, pretty sure the 90% would be dissapointed if they never got a sing-a-long to his number one album.

p.s most times ive seen calvin he has mashed his own tunes up with other drops, when i seen him last year he dropped the R3hab remix of bounce.

eh, I think Carl's productions are average at best.
He is most definitely a DJ first and producer 2nd. and I'm sure he has a lot of "help" on the productions.
His label puts out some quality tunes though
