    Default amp compatibility

    I have a Pioneer subwoofer (1400w-peak output). Can I use a 1000w peak output (2x125w RMS)Pyramid Amp?

I would shoot for something much more powerful. The Behringer EP2500 is a good budget amp. http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/EP2500.aspx

You'll probably want some kind of sound processing. I use a balanced Minidsp between my mixer and amp to set my crossovers, delays and eq's. http://www.minidsp.com/products/mini...p-balanced-2x4

I use a Certain Vega CV 5000 to power four 8ohm 400w RMS Harbinger 18's, ran at 4ohms on two channels. Subwoofers can handle quite a bit more power than they are rated for with good signal processing.
