Been scratching vinyl and dvs for about a year.

I love the five way adjustable crossfader. I feel like it's going to last me a lifetime. Five usable inputs if you count the session in. Real transform switches (On Off), EQ on/off switches that can be used as EQ kill switches as a single switch.

The EQ's are not full kill, but remove any necessary bass to remove thud rumble with vinyl, but doesn't sound as nearly as good for mixing as even the Nuo EQ's internal mixing in Traktor. Male voices have too much low end cut out with the 707's "low" EQ to sound good in a mix. This might be different on other Pioneer mixers, but this is my experience with this particular mixer.

    name: Patch
    location: Bristol, UK
    mixer: DJM 850
Scratching: Lower end of intermediate. (By that I mean baby's, scribbles, stabs, drags, transforms, chirps (well, kind of), flares)

Flares are the BIG scratch - they open up everything else.

The cut-in on the DKM850 cross fader is HORRIFIC. I can honestly say that the stock DJM850 x-fader is no better (but, possibly, worse) than the stock fader on the DDM4000.

I desperately need to do the credit card mod on my DJM850 x-fader...

I mainly use the Stokyo control vinyl's with scratch samples on one side and time code on the other. Dj craze released a dual sided vinyl as well for Traktor users
