Default Switching from PC to MBP - Traktor issues?

Hi guys, I've been using MBP 15'' MBP (2 GHz Intel Core i7, 4 GB RAM) only for Traktor and some basic stuff so far, but now I am planning to switch from PC to MBP as main computer. That means I'll be using a lot of programs beside Traktor like Final Cut, Ableton, Logic, watching movies, internet surfing etc. I would also upgrade hard drive and maybe add some RAM.

Could you tell me do you also use MBP as main computer with Traktor, and are there some issues? Also any suggestion would be helpful.

    Thanks in advance!

    Thanks!

I know I sound silly, but I also want to ask how much all day using MBP (connected to power) would affect it's battery life.

And a bit offtopic question, I've been using mouse whole life, I tried magic mouse and I didn't like it, what are your experiences with magic tracpad. Trackpad on MBP is really good compared to other laptops, but I i feel that with magic trackpad I wouldn't have as ''good controll'' as I have with mouse, also on downside mouses don't have gestures.

I leave mine plugged in while I run Traktor or Ableton, any other time if it's sitting I unplug it.

I also hate trackpads and shit, so I use a USB wireless mouse. Works fine.

Magic Trackpad is an awesome bit of kit. Works exactly like the Mac trackpad but you can have it where you want.
If you like the MBP trackpad as you say, you will love the Magic Trackpad although I question your need for it if you like the MBP trackpad..? Clarify..?

I will certainly need additional mouse or trackpad plus wireless keyboard because I will connect mac to 32'' LED TV. Just not sure wether is wireless mouse better than trackpad for video editing, music production etc.

You'll be much more precise with an actual mouse in my opinion

Yeah for precision I'd agree with that.

I tried to use one of those magic/track pads and just wasn't too keen of it... It's nice for your basic computing but when it comes time to work on music via Ableton it becomes a hassle.

Not Mac related, but I did see a video where Deorro uses a touchscreen PC with Ableton and that looked super sick...

e/ Would be fun with Traktor too
