The Novation SL series are sweet - don't get the compact version though

Depends what you want. Any midi keyboard with knobs and keys and faders should be decent. the m-audio knobs are a bit odd though. they kind of keep twisting... can't really explain... i just use an Oxygen 8 to be honest. I just map the knob i want to automate at any given moment.

i've used an oxygen 8 forever with no complaints. i suppose it depends on the kinds of controls you want, key feel, etc...

and i agree with Bento, novation SLs look pretty sweet

I would say just get an oxygen 8, you think you are going to use all these extra knobs, but really in my experience thus far, they keys and a nice mouse (and knowledge of the keyboard mapping) are the most important.

if you just want it for simple inputting in the piano roll editor then get a m-audio keystation. if you want to do more techincal stuff & also for live production/DJ'ing go for a novation

I have the keystation 66 for Logic, and Novation remote sl for live production
