What's your budget and what software do you currently or plan to use?

ImNotDedYet is on point - it starts with the software that you want to use.

You really wanna try get something that has a soundcard and a AUX (so if someone wants to use a phone at a party they can).
Personally I really advise getting something fully mappable, but if all else fails the S2 is your best bet.
See the Denon DNMC 2000 but as stated above me it's all dependant on your price range.

I started with a Hercules dj RMX. It's great and uses virtual dj. I then switched to the Pioneer 2000 setup, but am noticing that dj'n isn't for me, so i'm selling it all.

I started out on Numark Mixtrack Pro with traktor pro 2. Pretty cheap digi mixer and great for a beginner. Can prob pick them up on ebay real cheap for around €100

I suggest staying away from the gemini stuff it's fairly shoddy... Bought a cntrl-7 to have as a bang around controller with audio interface and it has been garbage even in virtual dj it locks up and jumps... On that note... I have a numark total control that I've had since they came out and it still works flawless just no audio interface... Mixtracks seem to come highly recommended along with some of the Hercules ones... I suspect the reloop ones are nice also should be able to snag a decent one with a good audio interface for under 300$
