Default Hello! New here and could use some advise.

Let me start with a little background. I learned how to spin on the good ol 1200's. Never really got to perfect my skills like I would like due to other priorities. However now I'm thinking of investing in some equipment and maybe try the digital side of things with a controller. I have checked out the DDJ SX, SR and the NS7 II. I like the spinning platter of the NS7 since I come from the 1200's however my budget is not that rich right now. Being that I'm just at a beginners level what do you recommend? Also open to other controllers. Does anyone know when the DDj SB will be out? Thank you in advance for your time and feedback!!!

    Welcome to the forums mate.

Depends what you're planing on doing, if it's just for bedroom DJ'ing the NS7 will do you well if you like the spinning platters. It just seems a tad heavy for my tastes but all to their own. I'm assuming you're more of a Serato user?

    Default Newbie.

    Thanks for the reply jonnoI,

I have only used Serato. I'm open to trying other software but from what I have read Serato seems to have the best software for vinyl simulation. Not sure if I'm expressing this correctly. I want something that I can scratch with also. I would like to have that option as well. I know nothing will be like the 1200's. I want a controller taht I can possibly used for local gigs also if that opportunity and interest presents its self.

Ahhh I get you, well from my experience scratching on a controller is kinda hit and miss; not impossible but just different. My main problem when I tried scratching on my controller was the delay on the software (I was using a pretty cheap controller by the way).
Regardless if you want something that you can take around and do local gigs with the NS7 might be to heavy.
tl;dr the Pioneer SX or SR if you're on a little more of a budget should suit you rather well (Plus it's got an AUX in case someone needs to use their phone).
Hopefully this has helped and I'm guessing you wanna get some Tech 12s and a Rane?

Is this even true anymore? I've only used Traktor Scratch Pro, so I'm genuinely curious what would make Serato emulate vinyl better.

My thoughts exactly, maybe technology has gotten that good now. Personally I think to only difference between the two is the layout now.
