So for someone who's never owned turntables and is going to buy a pair, should he/she buy (money not being an option): the PLX-1000, old Technics, or Str8-150s? Also, this person would have no idea what to look for in a used turntable and no one to accompany him/her with knowledge on turntables. Totally hypothetical here.

Who knows??? For all we know, these new Pio decks are a piece of shit that will die after a week of use...

    Time will tell...

Personally, I would hold out for a good pair of used 1200's/1210's.

No problem, frankle! Life has gotten in the way here, too. I think I've mixed for a total of around 20mins in the last few weeks!

    Calling Mojaxx:

We need a direct comparison video between RP 7000's and the PLX 1000's if you can make it happen.

I'd like to get a new pair of turntables for using out that allows me to leave my 1210's permanently set up at home. I'm struggling to see the price difference justification between the PLX and the RP's.

As these are now in stock at various retailers with some even having demos has anyone actually used one yet?
What are they like compared to say a SL1210/1200 or modern alternatives such as the the RP7000 (as mentioned above)
    TSP2, Rane 64, 2x SL1210 (restored and customised), Shure M44-7 Carts, X1 Mk 2, Launchpad.

Ive seen a few die so far, including one of the two for sale (used) at a local guitar Center. I walked in and turned both on. One of em stopped playing like 10 seconds after. Then the motor started kicking on and off. I pointed out and the pro audio guy pulled it off the shelf. I have absolutely no confidence in the plx1000's.
