Default Mixing software with just a laptop.

Starting from tonight I'm hosting a weekly show on a local radio station.

The studio doesn't have any mixing equipment, just a bog standard twin deck CD player.

Previously when I've covered for a friend of mine, I've either pre-recorded the mix and taken it along on CDs or just burnt individual tracks onto multiple CDs and treated it like a normal radio show.

Now in the long run this isn't ideal for me as I don't always have time to pre-record a 2 hour mix and I don't want to be burning individual tracks just for this purpose as normally I use Rekordbox and USBs for gigs.

Is there any software out there that I can run from my laptop which I'll be able to mix using?

    Thanks

Ableton Live was MADE for radio shows.

It wasn't, but it was, if you know what I mean...

Or any mixing software (VDJ, Traktor, Cross) will do the job. Just map the most needed keys to your keyboard (most programs come with a default mapping anyway).

If you don't have any software, and don't want to spend any money on software, then look at Mixxx. Free program that will do the job if you're just looking for basic mixing.

I've done this with Traktor, just mapping EQs, play, etc. to keys on the keyboard. It's a bit of a pain, and takes some getting used to, but definitely doable.

Traktor has the flang as well with just the keyboard.

Try mapping TouchOSC to control Traktor or VDJ on your laptop

Thanks for the replies guys, sorry for the late response.

I will look into the Mixxx software, mainly because it's free to see how I get on with it. If I can't, then I'll look into using Ableton.
