    Most RAM, fastest processor, and fast RPM/SSD HD that you can afford.

    Hint - it will have to be better than what you already have.

    The best laptop in the world is still going to be slow as hell if you don't protect it from internet nasties.

    Assuming it is Windows.
    Install a good AV program that sits in the background, doesn't consume too many resources or "bothers" you with messages to upgrade, doesn't kick in for an automatic scan and use 100% cpu etc.

    Lock down your browser, if using firefox install
    * adblock edge
    * ghostery
    * noscript
    * eff HTTPS everywhere

    Obviously don't open attachments from emails unless you are 100% sure of what they are. Even emails from "friends" should not be trusted unless you were expecting the file, if you want, write back and confirm.

    Keep regular backups . snapshots of your machine so you can easily revert back to a "clean" time should you get infected.

    Perhaps, but is a bit drastic, consider using your laptop only within a VM for your day to day use, thus keep the base OS as clean as possible for your DJing needs
