    Default House party setup, HELP.

    Alright guys,

I'm trying to piece together a budget house party setup that will also be used frequently in my home to make mixes.

I have a VCI-100 presently. I do not want to run an external mixer.

What I want to do, if this is possible is run the following.

Laptop to VCI-100 with an NI Audio 4 DJ. From there, I want to run two self-powered Tapco TH15As and connect them to the Audio 4. Is this possible? What kind of cabling would I need? Back of the TH15A's have an XLR in and out.

Thanks for any help, I don't want to buy anything without knowing for sure.

    -Chris

Also, is this setup possible with a Audio 2 DJ? I'm guessing no.

This is possible with an Audio2. All you need are a set of phono to xlr cables. Plug the phono end into the Audio4/2 and the XLR into the speakers and BAM! You got yourself some tunes

For extra bang, don't forget to add a keg of your favorite brew and a few scantily clad dancers.

Pay attention that if you use long (5m+) unbalanced cables for you selfpowered speakers it is possible to have big noise or to lose volume.

I recommend inserting a DI between the Audio X DJ and the speakers. That would not be necessary if Audio X DJ would have balanced outputs.

A good DI is http://www.thomann.de/gb/art_dti.htm . Also it is not expensive, and it will interrupt the ground loops (if any).
