If your going to learn how to produce and still want to do your dj thing ableton live is a good program, because then you can more easily apply the things you learn while producing(which will be a hell of alot) to your dj sets.

I am using Fl.Studio, Reason, Acid, Reaktor and Ableton.
mainly though I produce everything in Fl.Studio and Assemble the parts in ableton.

Ableton Live's the software for me.

Only sound advise I can give you is, take your time to experiment with different software, as that you will have a look and feel.
After this you will be able to determine what software works for you.
