Alot of people here use Trakor, but there are people also using Ableton, Torq, VDJ and whatever else tickles their fancy - everyone using any program is more than welcome to join the community.
I moved to traktor from VDJ, can't remember why tbh though. :-D
Just use whatever you feel happy with. The crowd on the dancefloor or people rocking out to your mixtapes don't give a toss what software it's made on. VDJ is very good software.

for me it was 4 decks + chained effects, beatgridding, and all the cue points that sucked me into traktor. best 200 bucks i ever spent.
IF i was going to use something else, it would probably be deckadance.
i plan on also using ableton here in the near future.

" I’m the Dude, so that’s what you call me. That or, uh His Dudeness, or uh Duder, or El Duderino, if you’re not into the whole brevity thing. "
I've been using Traktor for years... since the Final Scratch days.
It suits my needs.
Rock out with what suits yours.
