Curious if mixcloud streams at the sample rate you uploaded the mix or if it compresses down to an even lower rate to stream. I want to avoid a double compressed mix.

I would assume based on how it sounds likely decent quality... I no longer load mixes on phone and just stream over data when in vehicle and quality sounds nice but I do upload 320k versions
Soundcloud, YouTube, Spotify, Mixcloud, Mixify, etc all playback at 128kbps

Bitrate != sample rate. The sample rate will almost certainly be 44100Hz on streaming sites.
Bitrate is often 128kbps, but not always. HD Youtube videos (720p+) have 44.1kHz 192kbps AAC audio which sounds pretty decent.

Yup, it's also AAC rather than MP3, which is supposed to perform better at lower bitrates.

Well I've been doing 256K AAC but I just got word from Mixcloud that they recommend 192K MP3. I believe that is the max stream quality they use and doesn't have them recoding your mix down from whatever. Wish they'd put it in their FAQ: For max quality upload 192K MP3 else we recompress to fit.
