Default Mic on Thru and IPOD as backup at the same time?

Hi, I have a kontrol S4 MKI currently using a mic in the "Thru" configuration as described here (option 1)

    http://www.native-instruments.com/en...ontrol-s4-mk1/

Would it also be possible to connect my iPod to the S4 and use it as a "Thru" input independent of the Traktor software? My reasoning for this is for a mobile setup I like to have a mic and also the iPod connected via RCA cables incase my Traktor or Macbook goes down for any reason that way I can still play tracks while troubleshooting/rebooting.

    Thanks!

The answer is in your link..

"If a microphone is connected to the MIC input jack, the RCA-type inputs for LINE or PHONO are deactivated."

    I use a 1/4" splitter and then:
a 1/4" to 3.5 mm jack for the ipod.

I did find out that the mic switch has to be turned on for this to work. (for me at least)
