You can do that via midi.

AFAIK there's only one command for the crossfader. And master volume, headphone level, headphone mix, etc.

Actually, hipnotikk's got a point. You can't be searching through the same collection in two different directions. You'd need to do it one at a time.

You can get around the x-fader by using only volume faders, but it's not as much fun.

I read as 'loading tracks into decks', which can be handled easily thru midi.

Searching the collection is a drawback as well.

there would be a few hick ups but if only 1 person uses the cross fader and if you tap each others shoulder when you want to search could work.
I tried looking to sync through midi but looking at threads it is quite hard to sync 2 computers together with traktor pro 1.1
if anyone has a better idea let me know

I still think the best way to do this is to just do it by ear. It isn't that terribly hard if you use the internal clock, and you each and have the full functionality of Traktor. I mean, if you're spinning together there probably aren't going to be any drastic tempo changes, so with a little monitor to clear up the little differences you could easily just sync the master clocks to the same tempo on each computer individually and go.

@ Brad i would disable the XF and use it for effects.

Jester what you mean disable the XF and use if for effects doesnt it seem like a bit of a contradiction.

I think he means make the crossfader control effects instead of the Crossfader in Traktor

Like i have said a million times before, midi sync sux Manually beatmatching yields faaaar tighter results.

As for DVLS's comment about Cueing, you could mix externally on a couple 2 deck mixers each which would allow you both to cue externally.

setup a network with two laptops and do a master midi clock on one of them... ritchie hawtin goes a little into this but im sure you can find a tutorial like this somewhere, i think that would be the best way to do it.
