Default Ghetto setup for 2 people mixing in traktor

i am thinking of ways that me and my mate can dj together. I have read all the threads about syncing 2 computers together.

We both only mix on 2 decks so wouldnt a very easy/ghetto was of mixing be to use 1 traktor running 4 decks he uses 2 and i use 2.

If i cloned the screens so we both had a screen to look at each, me laptop screen him desktop screen would this work.

I have a VCI 100 and he has a bcd 2000 there shouldnt be a problem with midi signals crossing over should there. Sorry if its a bit of a rant just thinking out loud.

Hi mate. Having two decks each, say you with your VCI using A/B, and your mate the behringer using C/D would work fine. we do a similar thing on occasion actually. The only thing is you would have to map the BCD to only control C/D if you were going to do something like that.
But if you are using the same traktor then you could just map both controllers to run all four decks and just go crazy.

probally be worth setting the two controllers to different input channels aswell?

i'd imagine to clone the screens would be simple enough, just plug in a monitor to the laptop and set the display to clone rather than stretch the desktop. not sure what effect this would have on the graphics card though (as it's cloning the graphics onto another screen), and subsequently the performance of the system as a whole, can't see it being a massive effect. but only one way to find out....

...instead of cloning the desktop you could just stretch it and use (your) left screen for deck A & C and the other for B & D.

Probably will have a lighter impact on the CPU & GPU aswell.

The additional use of CPU will be very negligible, Traktor uses next to no CPU anyway.

You'd need to watch your cue-ing. You can't monitor A&B and C&D separately, so make sure that you have either monitors, or can cue over each other.
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

    You beat me to it.

Also, crossfaders and such become tricky to use.
