    Snake oil salesman says what? Wow, I can't believe a credible website like edm.com would take money from such a skeptical sponsor.

    The answer is, we don't know yet. If you look at the article it says there are clinical trials planned. That means they are going to test if this actually works. The source is New Scientist, which is a credible, scientific magazine.

    young folks out there protect yourself with earplugs! you can damage your ears years before you realize it's happened.

    Not sure why people would be skeptical of a proper study in the clinical trials stage.
