Default Traktor line faders on mixer not working?

I am currently learning this with the vci-100 se from DJTT and wondering something. Using internal mix mode when i lower one of the line faders the readout in traktor does not seem to go down according to how low I have the fader....is this normal? I am speaking of the audio readouts...

You mean the blue bars aren't lowering with the volume visually?
    It's the FAQ. Read it.

That's right they are NOT lowering in conjunction with the line fader on the vci-100.

Does it matter that im using my macbook internal sound card NOT my Audio 8 as Im just at my desk here learning the device before practice sessions with it but I thought for sure the blue bars should lower with the fader at least right?

The point of the fader is not a limiter of the levels. It doesn't work like that on regular mixers. It's the output level on a decibal level that the sound is being output from the "mixer", in this case, from Traktor, to the Master Out. If you push it all the way up and pull the gain down the spikes will not stay as high as possible.

It's not, however, a visual marker.
