Nice job! Which DAW did you wind up with?

Is that Molly Ringwald from Pretty In Pink saying "Say It?"

Love the old school vibe to it.

    Hi mate,

No, the sample comes from samples of some chick talking dirty I found on the net. I've changed the mix that I put up. I think this one sounds a bit more upfront and open.

I ended up with Logic as it's the cheapest and couldn't wait I like how it's easy to do arrangements on it.

Well, you know I've just gotten into production so these are just my rookie thoughts.

The kick to me is pretty boring. I'd give it some more low end thump. Snares could be brought down a bit as well IMO. They seem to drown out the kick in the rolls to me.

Scream It vocal in the break could use some reverb or delay. It's very plain jane to me and I think that would further accentuate "screaming it"

My first listen was at work on my Senn HD360 Pro's, with my second on my Beyer DT880's. There are a lot of subtleties I never picked up on the HD360's that I think could be brought up more into the mix. (the backing synth, some of the vocals, etc.)

The stereo field and width is really nice on the Beyers', but again I missed out on a lot of it with the Senn's.

Love the acid bassline, and like I said - very old school, early 90's dance tune vibe and feel to it.

Truthfully, I thought it got a little old and repetitive on first listen, but after listening on my better cans, I think it's because so much of the subtleties don't shine through because I really liked it a lot more the second time around.

Thanks appreciate it. I've done a fair few alterations. I'll put the new one up in a day or so & if you get tha chance check it out.
I do have a tendency to make snares too loud. I need to get something like Komplete to get a better library of sounds, but no money atm. Not the best selection of drum sounds in Logic.

    Cheers

Komplete's nice, but not cheap. You might want to explore one of the crossgrade paths where you can buy an item in Komplete at full price (unless you can snag it on sale) then crossgrade to Komplete when they have one of the crazy crossgrade/upgrade sales. It's also too much stuff IMO.

If you want "better" drum sounds, you can always the free samples and loops here: check out http://www.musicradar.com/us/news/te...-multis-217833. Just go ahead and rip the loops apart for the drum hit sounds you like. I've had a lot of fun lately just going through a bunch of loops I have or the add-on packs that come with Ableton Suite and ripping them apart, taking the sounds I like and arranging them into my own drum patterns.

I really like Wave Alchemy's drum packages as well, although those cost money.

I like it dude, pretty damn original. Bring the acid back lol. Also, if you need drum samples or whatnot, just message me.. I have tons of quality stuff I can dish out.
