I'm not sure you're going to see a benefit from removing that stuff, and you might have some problems trying to actually remove the store (I'm not sure how deeply it's tied into user verification, etc). But I did a little google and found this...

    http://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/12...nd-windows-81/

The calculator is calc.exe in the windows/system32 folder, along with sound recorder (SoundRecorder.exe)

The camera is in the windows folder in it's own directory (Camera)

Nice one. Sonds like Calc, Soundrecorder and Camera will be easy to remove!

I did find that site last night when I was trying to remove Win Store - but, on my machine at least, there is no folder at:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsStore

Tried a couple of registry locations that were mentioned on different forums, but, no WindowsStore folder to be found on my machine?

    Very annoying...

Did you try using the search feature in RegEdit, using the term WindowsStore?

I think windows 8 is pretty great.
I run traktor pro II, virtual dj, the one, and mixvibes, all with controllers and no soundcard, and get perfect audio performance and even video scratching in vdj.....coud not say the same for windows 7.

why not just do the old school opitimizing stuff. disable all those unneeded services

One simple way to get at some of the elements to turn off is Windows Mobility Center (Windows Button + X).
