I don't think I ever understood how there were "dubstep DJs". It's an awesome groove to use as part of a set, but I can't stand it for an hour...let alone only spinning it.

You should link me your chune that you made hombre. Been producing myself for the last 2-3 years and am looking to get something signed here at some point.

@mostapha I just made a dub chune myself. Some guys over here still play out a full hr of it. but its more deep rolling dub basslines then gnar gnar gnar gnar!

Amen. I loved what I was able to spin a few years ago at a local dive. starting off with break beats/rare grooves...chill stuff...vinyl house all scratchy and shit then to more current house. That was until the goon core crowd started to take over and everything became hard as fuck electro and bro step. My heart sank as I watched drunk bulldozers take over the place.

sigh...sorry I turned this into a bitch session.

Anywho, some of my favorite labels included jalapeno records, and the likes of BadboE, KraftyKuts, Zenit Incompatible and People Under the Stairs to name a few.

space monkey, it happens. All of it, sadly.

I was always a fan of nice, slow deep house building up towards harder techno (but not hardcore or hardstyle) at like 130 and then slam people with vocal and psy breaks. I only got to do it a couple times for people, but it was a lot of fun.

I guess I really need to do a new breaks mix considering how old these are.

For those of you into Ghetto Funk, Warp9 announced on FB yesterday that he's going to be dropping a free sample pack, including some beats and basses, at some point this week.

Speaking of Warp9 - did anyone catch his Ghetto Funk Drums Tutorial? Very, VERY good stuff:

Coupled with his free sample pack, I can see me banging together a nice little remix set with original (by me!) Ghetto Funk Drum Loops and hits!!!
