Not been on for a while, eyes perked up at the sight of a Breaks thread.

Doc Hooka is the don, good mate of mine (We have radio shows on the same station). He's got a freebie album, but always believe people should donate!) out on his Relative Dimensions label (this wk I think). Also he's hosting a party nearer Xmas for those in the South West UK area, might be of interest.

On the wider topic, lots of breaks still being made and played, which is great. It's sort of my 2nd genre DJing wise.

Breaks will never die if you ask me, I am a huge fan of the genre and play them out alot.. doing multi genre of house//techno//breaks can really make a cool vibe.

One thing I really enjoy is electro // breaks , generally find they blend well together.

Yeah - I really like his shows, and his mixes are getting better and better all the time. Didn't know he was the boss at Relative Dimensions...

What's he up to now in his 100 Hours of Hooka? He is putting in the work!

    Are you in Bristol, backtothefront?

    Can't agree more.

But, I would also like to see the genre raised to a status where playing
a multitude of different breaks within a set would be cool too.

From my personal experience, these newer kids don't know what to do w' that.

Hey Patch, not too far from Bristol, South of, about an hour's drive away (not milage, just due to the crap roads!! - yes I mean you A37!!!). Used to spend a lot of time clubbing and record shopping in Bristol and played up there a a few times. Great city.

Yeah, Doc is prolific, really nice guy too and really good to see he's getting the just rewards, playing Boomtown again this year etc. Funnily enough his show is tonight, 8PM(UK), always a good listen.

^^ that's killer dude! I just came across 300 various vinyl from the late 90's through early 00's. Looking forward to pulling out some of those older breaks and seeing how people react.

Any chance you can link this? I would like to read it.

Admittedly, I have not been keeping up w' Breaks, or any of the new producers,
so I would like some reference to what is hot at the moment. I want to see if it
jives w' what I consider good Breaks.
