So I've been on a massive 1990s dance music nostalgia tip lately, doing research on the era that first captured my attention and inspired me to be a producer/dj 10+ years ago. As I was looking through some old youtube videos of 90s djs and raves I stumbled upon this AWESOME FLICK, Modulations:Cinema for the Ear. There have been many documentaries about electronic dance music over the years but this one is bar none my favourite, I can't believe I hadn't seen it yet.

This is essential viewing for dance music enthusiasts!

it's good to see mr. moog rep'd in the movie! couldn't do that nowadays

you can grab the whole rip off a torrent site... the stuff towards the end about some of the early pioneers (Robert Moog, John Cage, Karlheinz Stockhausen) of heavily used EDM production techniques like sampling,field recording,cut/paste,and fx patch use etc. is really interesting.
well, the whole video is really interesting but that stuff stood out the most for me.
