sorry (again), it'll carry on playing after deactivating the loop.

basically now, with the deck playing i hit a cue point, jumps to start of a loop (and carries on playing), then will continue to loop if the loop is turned on, or plays passed that point if loop is off. and when i hit a point that's just a hot cue it jumps to that point and continues to play.
but all of that requires the deck to be playing. obviously i can jump to a cue with the deck stopped, but it won't play until i hit play.

i've attached a pic of the keyboard i've re-painted (if that helps)

the keys with h's & m's with arrow keys are my high and mid eq buttons. changed the eq knobs of the vci into dedicated fx sections for decks a and b and changed gain to bass.

I'm toughing it out with 3.4 as well. I've had luck with making a set up for the deck a cue points with this set up

Jump to Cue Point (1-6) + Deck Cue/Pause

And if I hit the Deck Cue/Play at the same time it will keep playing (which I put on the Space Bar).

in order to use it while a deck is playing I used the CTRL button to make a different set up for that same button

CTRL + Jump to Cue Point (1-6) + Deck Cue/Play

and I can just hold down the CTRL when i know the deck is playing already

did think of that, but that would start creating more buttons to remember

You can map it to the same button, though. So the button for Jump To Cue 1 is also mapped to Cue/Play.

yeah i worked that out, i meant using control or shift to switch between cue/pause and cue/play versions. no doubt will happen soon, but as i'm using it primarily for loops atm it's not such a high priority thing.

and i know it sounds bad saying one extra button is too much to remember, but i know that in the heat of the moment i'd miss a button or hit the wrong one and kill eveything lol

Oh no no, I completely understand that. The point is to centralize our set ups to make it all streamlined.

Though, with TPro you can use modifiers which makes it a bit easier than the pages in T3

not a fan of the pages, the more i can squeeze into one page the better.

when i first got the vci i tried setting up using the sync buttons on either side to effectively toggle between a & c or b & d.
    page 1 a and b
    page 2 c and b
    page 3 a and d
    page 4 c and d

for some reason once on page 4, it would always return to page one, despite that it only ties in with pages 2 and 3.

that alone put me off pages

Yeah, there was always an error on Page 4. You could force a toggle, but most systems, mine included, caused a wicked MIDI feedback error that locked everything up. Watching it happen on MIDI-Ox was kinda creepy.

I tried that same exact thing, though, and kind of resigned myself to two deck mixing. Though I'd really recommend moving to TPro. You can easily map a 4-deck mix.

that's why i went down the road of using c and d as (basic) samplers and set the effects bit to control them, the selection button (a, b, master) is 100% reliable so it all works like a charm, even found a use for the 'button 4' issue with 1.2 fw, turns effect (generally beatmasher) on for which ever 'sampler'/deck is selected (using hold), but then also turns on the corresponding a or b deck effect (toggle).
    love a good beatmasher+filter combo
