    Hey!

Your tut isn't a bad idea, especially for those who don't know how to make a simple logo.
Nevertheless a logo is something unique, you can't just use a font like this!

i don't think a logo is absolutely necessary for a artist, if you really need one ask a designer to make your logo!

    However great initiative man!

I focused on creating a cool icon first (as seen in my avatar pic)... text is next. Problem is, my lettering style tends to be wild-style graffiti, which is a bit hard to read for branding. I'm just not as happy with logos that don't have a lot of things goin' on. heh

I'm a HUGE graf fan - but it very rarely works in logos.

Even REALLY GOOD handstyle doesn't look great as a logo.

There are tons of text/font tutorials out there - start with a typeface that you like, and work it up into a font.

    Quick/dirty example: http://www.tutorialwiz.com/blingbling/

A REALLY easy technique, is to convert the text to paths, and then join letters up by disconnecting, moving, and re-connecting (and closing the path) nodes...

yeah--as someone who's done graphic design professionally for 15 years... a might insulting. but some folks, I'm sure, benefited greatly from that equivalent of pushing the design 'sync' button. shoulda used 'Papyrus' font, brah!
