I actually asked the question over at the MP3Tag forum. Like you said - you CAN import cover art based on Genre (etc...) but you CANNOT have the cover art updeted with information from teh tags...

Actually - if you already had cover art set-up for every key/energy combo, MP3Tag COULD attach those files to an mp3. What I want, is artwork generated from the genre/artist/title tags...

How would you go about doing this then?? I can't seem to find a way to tell mp3tag to use a certain image file depending on a tag...

What sort of cover art are you wanting to add to the mp3?

Re: Covert art - jut something REALLY basic (and only if there is no existing covers) with a coloured backdrop (or a picture specific to the genre) and teh artist name and song-title.

I figure ANY colourful artwork is better than nothing. I'm a visual relation type of guy.

I think something like that would be pretty easy to program.... There's bound to be java libraries out there to interface with mp3 tags. If I get bored at any point soon I'll see what I can whip up.

its doable - there are several decent APIs for reading tags from mp3s and drawing on a bitmaps is easypeasy. I guess i was mostly lazy - but if i have to choose between making amateurish techno and doing what i do at work on my spare time - i choose techno .

also i am starting to find the square engineeringness of traktor annoying
