Never have had any issues with recording in Traktor so far... Even with slower machines. When is the last time you've re-installed new version of the TraktorSettings.tsi file?

(user>documents>Ni>Traktor) locate the file and delete it (backup it first) then start new setup wizard.

This solves no end of problems. I'd recommend doing this every few months.
