Default Traktor Update - what is the risk???

I'm still using 2.6.8. My set-up has, until this weekend, been rock solid.

Something terrible happened this weekend, when both iTunes and traktor stopped playing ball!

I was able to roll-back to a previus Traktor Settings.tsi (thank God I had a back-up!!!), and a previous iTunes library (I lost a couple of new Smart Playlists, but nothing I can't re-build).

Now - to be on the safe side, I'll be re-installing Traktor. I don't know if I can risk updtaing to the most recent version - since I have a very complicated combined .tsi for my controllers (Zomo-MC1000 & Dicers), and an F1 in non-midi mode...

How can you tell if updating will alter any controls that you already have mapped? Like I said - my set-up is rock solid, and I would HATE to have to try to re-map anything...

Also - make a back-up of your "Traktor Settings.tsi" today, folks!!!

After updating, Traktor will ask you to import the settings from your previous version or not. You can ether let Traktor to copy those on the first startup or you could backup your .TSI and import it later in the controller manager.

    Backup-ing mine right now

Cheers Stewe - but how do I know if my existing mappings will still work perfectly in the newest version? I know NI changes the names of mapping functions sometimes - could thus potentially damage my existing mapping?

Last major update in regards to the controller manager was at 2.5 - I don't think NI will change or rename those same commands again.

In regards to 2.7 you don't have to worry about your existing mappings since the only update to the CM was the Freeze Mode slicer. All other commands are intact.

Please note that you can always revert to the 2.6.8 since all previous installers are still there in your hard drive.

after my update, my tsi keeped working fine.

only midi mapping commands changes in 2.7.x are freeze/slicer commands.

disadvantage: the update from 2.6.8 to 2.7. broke my traktor settings.tsi.

i suggest to backup all your tsi´s and settings. make a clean install and import your tsi´s/settings into your new version.

if you experiencing problems, you can roll back to 2.6.8. Updating backs up your old traktor versions.
