I was just looking into this last night on their site and it appears that currently, it is not midi mappable and only works with Pioneer gear.

Why EVERY CDJ in the video doesn't have any data on the screens other than "Deck #", time and bpm??? No small or zoomed waveform. Not even tracklist.

Are they seriously competing with Traktor/Serato HID mode with just that or is it just a video from the beta stage of the software?

Also, cool thing you posted the function list of each CDJ with Rekordbox. Seem that, unlike Traktor, with Rekordbox connected to players you will only have CDJ model specific functions. So no remaping possible. No hotcues on lower CDJ model. Just like the hardware (that probably means CDJ don't act like controllers - instead just use laptop as display and storage )

That makes sense to me from Pioneer's standpoint. If you want the more advanced features, it forces you to purchase the more expensive hardware. Sucks for us as consumers, but you couldnt use the loop buttons as cue points in HID with Serato anyway and midi mode sucked bootay.

I know, that's why I said currently. We'll see how long it takes them to make it midi compatible and even then, what features they allow access to.

IMHO anything with a price tag attached should have midi capability. It doesn't make sense buying (already overpriced) Pioneer gear and then still forking out the cash for the software.......

Being realistic, they do not compete with Traktor for sure
