    Default Windows 10 optimisations checklist?

I've been looking for an optimisations list to check I have covered all the setting and other things (like running services etc)

I know what to look for (I'm someone who people look to for tech support in the family), but as it's a new operating system version, there might be other settings I need to tweak.

maybe (as i've not seen any articles online anywhere) it is a good idea for DJTT to do one?

    http://www.blackviper.com/service-co...onfigurations/

also, copy the 2 reg files from this thread http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/5...dows-10-a.html and run to disable windows defender permanently. At the moment if you disable it, it will restart after 15 minutes.

download process hacker to properly kill threads using up resources. http://processhacker.sourceforge.net/

download latency monitor and do a full scan http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon

seems the dpclatency tool is not compatible (at least i could not install it)

depending on your system, you may want to disable your network devices and battery in the device manager before jamming, and suspend the acpi.sys threads using process hacker

Does anyone know if the DJTT Pro Audio Optimiser batch script will still work with Windows 10?

Its a bit old now (2011 I think), but I find it quite handy for shutting down any and all unneeded services in one go. The only thing it doesn't seem to turn off properly is Defender, although it is included in the script so I am not sure why.
    With the ill behaviour...

I wouldn't even try to run a 5 year old script ona brand new OS.

Most of this advice is out of date. Modern hardware has more than enough power to soak up these resource demands.

This is only worth doing if you actually have dropouts now.

I've been a pro IT tech for 20 years, used to tune audio pcs religiously, and now I don't bother as there is no performance benefit for the time.

Is this DEFINITELY true, ImNoDJ? 'Cos I'm not convinced that the tweaks I made to my newest machine (Win 8.1) really DID NOT make any difference...

I'd love to be able to run Traktor and Ableton on my new machine, and also use that machine for general browsing and office...
