Default Best Music Store in New York City?

    Hey guys,

I live in Providence RI, and the only places to get music around here are a second hand oldies record store and the mall. I'm heading to NYC for a day next week and wanted to hit some music stores there. Does anyone have any recommendations for some must visit, must see music stores?

Turntable Lab. It's small but has a lot of great new records.

As stated above, Rock and Soul is sweet for records and equipment

One of the best hip-hop vinyl shops in Manhattan: http://www.fatbeats.com/
Can also eat at Gray's Papaya...Fat Beats is almost right above the hot dog shop.

well there is a lot record shops in the east village. if you know your way around you can find them just by walking once you get off at a subway stop. but my suggestion would be to go to the turntable lab first, and then go from there. finding good electronic records in nyc seems hard. at leased for me. hip hop is always what i buy in nyc. and then usually i just order electronic type stuff online directly from labels. anyways get there early the shops close way too soon. like 8 i think. haha i can spend hours in them.
    hope you do too.
    good luck.

well that shouldn't be too hard then. there is some guy on ebay from cali that sells huge lots of used records in the house and garage genre. i think he goes buy the name vinylforcheap or something.

how did the shopping experience go? get any good records? where did you end up going?
