Pretty bummed about the announcement to release a 2-channel version of the 2015... I was really hoping they would announce a new 62, just like they announced the 57mkII. Does anyone have any thoughts on when a new 62 might be coming out?

What exactly would you want from one that it doesn't already have?

Yeah but 57mkII wasn't just updated for the sake of inovation. 57mk1 was not compatible with SeratoDJ (USB 1.0 vs 2.0 thing) so it was neccessary to launch a similar product for new software.
62 works with both SSL and SeratoDJ and it's features are pretty current, I wouldn't expect a replacement any time soon.

This is exactly my thought too. Just throwing a few new niche features on a mixer and calling it an update for the sakes of it is just really bad consumerism. This desperation by us users to have new features and new gear is getting silly. The 62 is about as up to date as you can get (it even has dual interfaces) and at that price, just upgrading for the sakes of it mental.

If everyone looked at consumer goods the way you did, we'd all still be driving Model Ts.
Just to clarify--in your opinion the 62 is the perfect mixer, and there will never be another technological innovation for the rest of time that could be implemented in the mixer to make it better? Just trying to play devil's advocate here.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying adding a few random small features and repackaging as a new product isn't good for the users. No one is stopping innovation. But just iterating and flogging it off to gullible punters hooked on GAS causes market fatigue. You can see that happening right now with the slowdown in innovation. The shelf life for a product like that should be more than a few months!
Besides, the perfect mixer is the Xone:92, hence why it's remained unchanged and unchallenged for years.
