Everybody always says Mackies are great but I haven't had a chance to play on them. I have a pair of Presonus Eris E5 and a relatively small room and I love them. I've heard people moaning about Rokits boosting the lower end, which I think would be even worse in a small room.

Genelecs all the way! But if they're out of budget then maybe Adam A5X's

Love my JBL LSR 305s. Was eyeing Adam A5xs which do sound more detailed by not worth 3x the price of the JBLs IMO...so I bought the JBLs. If you have the space get the big bros, or maybe check out Yamaha HS5s.

I think Event 20/30s are interesting and the Focal Alpha series.

The JBls have a surprising amount of low end...I mixed a winning beatport remix on them

Get some reference monitors from Pioneer. I have the 5 inch model, they are great!

The JBL LSR305 are really tasty. Heads or gearslutz rave about them... I heard good things about the Mackies too. Gearslutz a good place to get opinions anyway https://www.gearslutz.com/board/

I would also have a look at the Adam A5x; I can recommend them.
