Default Setting up Traktor HID/aggreate on Mac without having access to Pioneer players?

Playing out at a venue in a few weeks time, they have CDJ 900's as there set up, I am looking to use my Traktor in HID mode with them as I don't want to start messing about/unplugging with my A6 sound card.

My question is after watching a few videos on how to do this, I now feel confident that it can be done in a matter of minutes, but would like to know can I set up an aggregate device on my Mac at home, name the aggregate Pioneer 900 etc and then just plug and play when I am there. Or do I have to have access to the CDJ's beforehand and set it up with the Pioneers plugged in?

I hope all that makes sense

OK, I can't answer your question (I'm a windows boy) but have a few things you should do though:
    - Contact the venue and check the firmware version on the 900s
    - Bring your A6! If you plug in and things don't work you want to be able to quickly setup your DVS system and play on regardless

    - When contacting the venue, ask if there is a good time to pop in and quickly check the setup? Should only take 10 mins and you'll know for sure if things will work (but still take the A6 on the night in case!)

    - One last point - look for somewhere locally that sells 900s, go in store and ask to test the HID functionality - get it working in store then you should be OK at the gig

Grab copies of Pioneer's aggregator tool along with the 900 drivers in advance, also bring a thumb drive with the latest firmware and familiarise yourself with the upgrade process.

Arrive to the venue early and test everything before your slot. Worst case scenario keep your A6 with you like csurfleet suggested.

Setting up the aggregate device bit in advance and renaming it won't work unless you do so with the players

In order to create an aggregate device yourself you will need the device, in this case de CDJ-900. This means you will need to plug your Mac on each possible equipment to have all the aggregate devices ready for all the equipment range.

Because of that Pioneer created the "CDJ/XDJ Aggregator Tool" (you can find it here: https://www.pioneerdj.com/en/support...re/cdj-900nxs/), so now you can have this tool in your Mac and it will be an aggregate device for all CDJ/XDJ range (as they say, so don't trust this phrase 100%!, test it beforehand if you can).

So basicly this tool was created way after the CDJ-900 was launched and, if I were you, I would consider the possibility that it will not work with this equipment. So do what Padi is saying, arrive early, try to update the firmware and hope for the best.

Cheers all, yeah the soundcard will be (and always is) in my bag just in case. I think I will just stay with USB's for this night now, shame as I prefer the Traktor effects, and the club mixer isn't a DJM/A&H so will just be a old skool mix and blend session :-)

Download the latest firmware of the 900s onto a USB stick and bring it with you to the venue. Update the players before your set, and you should be good to go. They're actually very easy to setup!
