    Default control needle shootout

What type of needle or cartridge is good for control vinyl within a DVS?

    Shure M44-7's/M44-G
    Stanton 500/505 AL's

I've used all of those without issue, and would happily use any of them again.

For pure DVS use I would get the Shure M44-7's, low record wear and excellent tracking.
    Live rig: Denon Prime (5000M's)
Retired: Denon x1700, Denon SC3900's, Traktor, Technics SL1200's, my vinyl
Wish list: Some Roland Aira stuff.

Low record wear should be at the bottom of your list for DVS, since you can just buy more timecode discs easily. I'd be very surprised if you have issues with any DJ-orientated carts/needles. DVS is very forgiving.

I use Ortofon Concorde Elektro's personally - I like them and I have had them for awhile now. People swear by different things - these have treated me well for both normal records and control vinyl.
