Default Traktor Pro 2 and Traktor Scratch Pro 2 [What are the differences?]

They are the same price, and both say full version.

Since there is not a compare-and-contrast chart, I don't understand the differences, pros and cons, similarities.

I heard that the Scratch version has everything and does everything the Pro 2 version can do plus more. So why are they the both the same price and up for sale at the same time?

I wouldn't want to buy the Scratch version only to figure out later it has restrictions that the regular Pro 2 version does not have.

Only difference in product buying I know so far is that
Traktor Pro 2 [is a download]
    and
Traktor Scratch Pro 2 [comes in the mail in a box and has timecode].Attachment 26985

The only difference is that the Scratch version supports timecode (DVS) for both vinyl and CDs, along with including these in the box. Aside from they are the exact same software. If I recall right you needed certified hardware registered in your NI account to grab the scratch license though but that might have changed, double check with their support before you buy something you might not be able to use.

I suspect with the likes of the MP2015 having Traktor certification, they'll have opened up the licensing a bit.

I plan on purchasing Traktor software, but since I haven't used it before, is it possible to use it without the hardware, and have 2 decks playing in internal mode?

For example, can I use just my laptop and software and listen through the headphone jack?

I know it isn't possible with Serato software. DJ nor Scratch Live.

Since you mentioned it. I'm sure it'll prevent me from purchasing it if that's the case? Then I'll just choose the other version. If it won't let me purchase Traktor SCRATCH Pro 2, then I'll get Traktor Pro 2. I guess it's win-win either way if I have the internal mode.

playing in internal mode with just the build in sound card on your computer is doable with either software

Serato doesn't let you use more than one deck without hardware plugged in. Traktor Pro 2 can be fully working software with built-in audio.
