    Default what should i do

i am having a party in my flat for some of it i want to dj using my dj setup and i have it running through traktor pro. But not all the time i also want to have a playlist going. is that possible to have another program running at the same time that will play through my mixer so i can use my dj speakers or should i just put a long mix on ?

you could set up a playlist in iTunes and set your audio output device in your sound preferences to the same you use for traktor, are you using an external audio interface to dj with?

Yes, Winamp will allow this function.
Just don't play em at the same time, this might make traktor poo itself (with onboard sound). I've used both in a live setting btw, Winamp and Karaoke plugin, and then DJ with Traktor.

If your computer is giving you issues you can always plug your phone in to a mixer.

Obviously not a "cheap" option, but I always have a playlist ready on my iPod Classic for situations like that. I'm not sure what the dedicated mp3 market is like anymore in this day and age, but you could probably find not Apple branded ones for cheapish

    Much easier.

Or just plug the output of a bluetooth receiver on the mixer, so you can have your phone with you.
